what on earth!?

My life right now is crazy dope. I'm actually enjoying the flow of things. I have a dope job, a devastatingly dope apartment, crazy friends, and sick abs. I'm talking SICK!

But, Y'know what's even better?

(Yes I hear you, "better than sick abs and a dope apartment?????")

My family is acting normal. Kinda.
I've been talking to my older sisters on the regular and my dad is doing better (I think). My mom went back to work. My little sister started Kindergarten. We're fine. Or at least I'd like to think so.

I stopped by Richard's grave before I left, and I asked him to help make alot of those things happen.

She's right. She was the first girl to scream on the track...and she IS the bossiest bitch to ever set foot on God's green earth.

We all know how I feel about Kelis. It goes without saying. We all know that I'd drink homegirl's bathwater. So, this review may be a 'lil biased..but whatever. The album is great. Well..not so much great...as..TRAILBLAZING! It's so fresh and new! She is waaay ahead of her time! She's the originator..the trend creator. Kelis Was Here almost boldly proclaims all of these things. She may not have the vocal abilities of the other one named artists. *see previous post* But no one can fuck with her! Beyonce is embracing her inner Kelis, and thats why I like her more now.

My fave tracks are:

Like You
Lil Star
Circus

The others are dope as well. They are all equally innovative and fresh. Kelis may not get the SoundScan numbers she deservers. But this album is a classic! 6 MiCS!

So it only took 2 weeks for Beyonce' to piece together B'Day, huh? Well, for two weeks..this album delivers. I have officially been converted into a Beyonce Stan. I'll admit it. But I don't even care, really. Say what you want about Beyonce, but at the end of the day, we all have to realize that her star power is out of this world...Her talent reaches far beyond most artists. Her voice is phenomenal. The ad libs that she creates are often better than entire SONGS of others. One Beyonce' Ad Lib = 3 Cassie albums.

I'd totally switch teams for Beyonce'. I'd hit it. Yeah, I said it.

B'Day is an awesome blend of old school feel good music..and well..Swizz Beats. Sometimes they make a dream combo..other times...it can be a tad repetitive. While B'Day has some great tracks, there are a couple that are complete misses. I won't name names..but I WILL say that I absolutely LOVE:

Kitty Kat
Green Light
Freakum Dress
Resentment

Those are the standouts. Be Warned, it may take a few listens to get into the groove of B'Day, but give it a shot. It's worth it.

Beyonce-B'Day

Christina Aguilera is the boss. Beyonce' is ok, but her songs can NEVER touch the great ones that are constantly turned out by the former. Christina delivers in every way on "Back the the Basics". I can't think of a single bad thing to say about the ENTIRE cd!

That being said, my new favorite song of all time is on this album. A snippet of it was originally played on that "All Eyes on Me" MTV special...and I was instantly hooked! This song should eventually be single, since I've already directed the entire video in my mind.
